Module: Questionnaire Form Setup

The Questionnaire Form is in Catglobe also known as the Questionnaire Template and Questionnaire Editor. This module is used for setting up questionnaires with all questions, properties and conditions. The tool is normally used by the Survey Responsible.

Module: Panel & Sample

The ability to maintain and build up high value panels and samples is a keystone to the success of Catglobe. Using especially the Groupbuilder it is possible for the Survey Responsible to maintain clean high-value and low maintenance samples and panels that can quickly be allocated to surveys.

Module: Telephone Interviewing (CATI)

Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) is one of the most expensive ways of collecting data for a survey; but at the same time also one of the most exact. Catglobe offers complex CATI processes and settings to get these data collected as efficiently as possible while ensuring high quality responses. Main actors in regards to CATI is the Survey Responsible and the Interviewer.

Module: Paper Questionnaire (PAPI)

There are many situations where paper questionnaires will be the most convenient way to collect answers from respondents. Normally the Survey Responsible will take care of setting this up.

Module: Face to Face Interviewing (CAPI, CASi)

Face to Face interviewing is also known as Halltest. It is a way of collecting answers from respondents by bringing a laptop to the location where respondents can most easily be reached and then asking them in person while inserting the answers to the laptop. The challenge is that these laptops will normally be offline and thus creates a need for synchronizing questionnaires and collected data between server and client. Face to Face Interviewing is normally administered by the System Administrator.

Module: Coding

Coding is the process of converting open answers to closed answers. This is handled by two main actors, namely the Coding Manager and the Coder. The first mentioned specifies the “jobs” that need coding whereas the latter does the “job”, i.e. the actual conversion.

Module: General Report Engine

The general report engine supports creation of both static as well as dynamic reports. Both tools share the same engine so that all the features described below can be reused for both. This engine is normally used by the Report Creator.

Style sheets can be set up that will define how diagrams will look. These style sheets are reusable across reports and it is even possible to open individual diagrams to make settings that overwrite style sheets applied to the related reports. v
Reporting on Resource object data – it is possible to make reports that are based on more or less any of the data that the system may generate; e.g. reports based on project data or task completion. v
Weighing of data using any weight set that will be associated with a report from time to time. v
Complete control of axes labels so that any defaults derived from the original source supplying the data (e.g. the questionnaire) can be overwritten with something more convenient. v

Module: Static Reporting

Static reporting is the making of typically printed documents or presentations with survey results that are then sent to the clients. Catglobe can also present these static reports on users’ personal pages or sites if required. These reports are typically set up by the Report Creator.

Module: Dynamic Reporting

Using a combination of monitor sites, dynamic diagrams and dashboards we can give the end clients the possibility to do advanced analysis on their data themselves. This includes various diagram types where user can set things like time line, products, filters, target groups, comparison filters and much more. The diagram types available are tracking, comparison, single, campaign, and cross. Dashboards further make it possible to make completely new dynamic visualizations and interpretations of data. Such dynamic reports and sites will normally be set up by a Report Creator.

Module: Communication

Catglobe’s communication module is especially important in regards to contacting Respondents by email to fill in their personal web based answer sheets. This module is therefore mostly used by the Survey Responsible.

Module: Workflow

The workflow module is a tool that can be applied to the system to create automatic updates of data or even trigger events based on certain things happening in the system. The tool is so flexible that all the processes it can support cannot be described in the short format used here. Therefore we will just describe a few of the central features that it offers.

Create user / group – an anonymous user may wish to register as actual user during the survey. The questionnaire can then ensure this happens automatically. v
Create journal – we can add notes to the journal of a resource when something vital happens to that resource. v

Module: Data & Integration

This module is mostly used for extracting or inserting data from the normal data structure from and to external systems. It also includes the Data Cache feature which is a temporary place to store data to be used for reports. These features are generally used by the Data Manager.

Module: Work Management

Catglobe will for many companies be the main and only system they use for all the work done in the company. Module: Shifts

The companies using Catglobe are often organizations who have a great need for flexibility in the meeting days and hours of their employees. For this purpose we offer the Shifts module for managing and allocating work in an efficient way. A Shift is a period of time of less than a day where the Supervisor needs a Part Time Employee to carry out required work (typically interviewing). The Shifts module makes sure that the task of coordinating this is done almost entirely by the system.

Module: Security and Framework

Catglobe is a system supporting many simultaneous users, with widely different reasons for logging in. The system is further meant to be used both across time zones, languages and cultural borders. Also Catglobe is in many ways a system for creating systems and sub sites for its users. Finally the system is focusing on ensuring that any piece of data is only shown to those for whom the information was meant. All of these focus areas have resulted in a highly configurable environment enabling managers to create the exact environment that will suit their company’s needs and requirements. The main roles supporting this will be the System Configuration Manager, who will initially set up the system, as well as the System and Data Managers, who are the company assigned main administrators of data.
